A Bucknuts.com source has confirmed that Ohio State starting left guard Justin Boren has a sprained MCL (knee) that was suffered during Friday’s practice.
There were reports that Boren could miss up to four weeks, but our source says “three weeks is the prognosis and it could be less.”
Boren is considered the best run blocker on Ohio State’s offensive line and it would be a big loss if he’s not available for the season opener against Navy on Sept. 5 or the showdown against USC on Sept. 12.
Boren was honorable mention All-Big Ten at Michigan in 2007 and sat out last season after transferring to OSU.
