In this non-premium feature, I review the Buckeyes' recruiting week. It was another busy week at Bucknuts.com highlighted by stories on offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson, defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd and defensive back Josh Shaw. The week also included the latest edition of my Ohio Class of 2011 Top 10.

The week began on Sunday morning when I posted my feature which this past week was the latest edition of my Ohio Class of 2011 Top 10.  The No. 3 prospect on the list was the Buckeyes’ most recent commitment, Canton McKinley defensive end Steve Miller.  The No. 1 prospect on the list remains Huber Heights Wayne quarterback Braxton Miller.  The No. 2 prospect is another OSU commitment, Toledo Whitmer defensive end Kenny Hayes.

Jim Tressel called to check on Seantrel Henderson last Monday.  He did not speak directly with Henderson, but the two were supposed to do so a day or two later.  The Buckeyes remain very much in the thick of things for the No. 1 offensive line prospect on the ESPNU 150.

Defensive back Josh Shaw has made some changes.  He has decided he will not make an official visit to Oklahoma the weekend of Nov. 14.  Instead he will make an official visit to Miami the weekend of Dec. 12.  Shaw has already made official visits to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida and LSU.  Shaw plans to announce his college choice at the Under Armour All-American game on Jan. 2

Defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd won’t be making an official visit anywhere this weekend as he has a playoff game this evening.  Because of the playoffs Floyd will wait until after the football season to take any additional visits.  The Buckeyes are one of the front runners for the star defensive tackles services along with Florida.

On Monday morning I posted my review of how the Buckeyes’ commitments did last weekend.  There were some outstanding performances including that of running back Corey Brown who accounted for over 300 rushing and receiving yards last week, and had four touchdowns.  Another Buckeye commitment that had a big game last week was defensive end J.T. Moore.  Moore made 14 tackles including two sacks in his most recent contest.

One of the Buckeyes’ top class of 2011 targets is Oil City, Pa., tight end Ben Koyack.  Koyack had successful surgery on his right knee this past week to repair cartilage.  But because of the surgery, Koyack won’t be able to attend the Ohio State-Penn State game today.  Koyack has OSU as his leader over Penn State.

Today the Buckeyes take on Penn State in Happy Valley.  In addition to the battle on the field, the two schools will be involved in recruiting battles.  The only senior both schools are going after is defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd.  However, Floyd will not be at the game because he has a game of his own tonight.  Junior tight end Ben Koyack also won’t be at the game because of the knee surgery he had earlier in the week.  But some juniors and sophomores both schools will recruit will be at the game.

Bucknuts.com had a video interview with Jonathan Hankins.  The star defensive tackle is interested in making a December official visit to Ohio State.  The video was originally posted on Spartantailgate.com.

In a non-premium story on Friday I posted my preview of the games this weekend involving the Buckeyes’ commitments and prospects the Ohio State staff is hoping to add to their 2010 and 2011 recruiting classes.  Cincinnati Anderson takes on West Chester Lakota West on Saturday night in the first round of the state playoffs.  Unfortunately offensive lineman Andrew Norwell is out with a broken leg.  It would have been fun seeing Norwell go against Jordan Hicks at times.

It was indeed a busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another busy week here at Bucknuts.com. That is not going to change as we begin what will be another interesting week on the Ohio State recruiting front.  Bucknuts.com is the place for all of the news.  It all starts here tomorrow with my Sunday feature which this week is the latest edition of my Ohio State 2010 Hot List.
