Was there a major football verbal tonight? That subject and much more came up in tonight's chat session with Dave Biddle.
braxtonmiller
Did he or didn't he?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 6:57:51 PM)
Hello and thanks for dropping by on this fine night. Please fire away whenever you're ready!

billygoat buckeye (Nov 19, 2009 6:58:17 PM)
Dave, How dop you feel about the Buckeyes offense? I am not rying to start anything negative, but don't understand why we recruit the best players and then handucff them

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 6:59:50 PM)
I'm certainly not pleased with where it's at this year. They rank eighth in the Big Ten and 65th nationally in total offense. Ohio State can do much better than that, but this is what we've become accustomed to in the Tressel era. I think better days are ahead with Pryor the next two years, but this team's strength will always be defense as long as Tress is there...

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:00:40 PM)
Some people wonder why OSU can't have a great offense and a great defense. We saw a great offense the years Troy was at QB ('05 and '06 were by far the best offensive years of the Tressel) era, but other than that they've struggled each year.

billygoat buckeye (Nov 19, 2009 7:00:44 PM)
Will Tressel ever let the TP loose

billygoat buckeye (Nov 19, 2009 7:00:48 PM)
maybe next year?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:02:16 PM)
I think he will loosen the reins a little bit next year, but I don't think Pryor will be far enough along in his development for Tressel to completely turn him loose like he did with Troy. Even though Pryor will be a junior, he won't be ready for that. He still has a long way to go to be a consistent QB at this level. But I do expect him to be given more slack next year. I'm just not sure it will be all that much different though.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:02:25 PM)
Hey DB!! Cozy tonight!!! O H - !!! The Orange doesn't look to bad so far. How will unc look? Can our perimiter game make up for their inside advantage? Score?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:04:14 PM)
I-O right back at you! Syracuse definitely looks impressive and they're playing close to home. I think OSU can beat UNC tonight. This is not a great UNC team as proven by some of their early games (they struggled to beat a mediocre Valpo team). They lost a lot of talent to the NBA with Lawson, Hansbrough, etc. However, they do have plenty of talent with Deon Thompson and others. ... I think this game comes down to OSU's ability to shoot the 3 and rebound. If they shoot the 3 well and at least hold their own on the boards, they'll win. I am predicting a four-point OSU victory: 78-74.

billygoat buckeye (Nov 19, 2009 7:04:19 PM)
What's your prediction for the OSU-UM game?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:05:27 PM)
I like the Buckeyes to win (and barely cover) 31-17. I think Michigan will make things interesting in the first half, but I look for OSU to take control towards the end of the first half and then seal the deal in the second half. Buckeyes by 14. Michigan's offense will have some tricks up their sleeve though and I expect them to move the ball early. Then OSU's D will settle in and shut the door on them.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:05:38 PM)
I'm starting Beanie this weekend, he goes against JL? How do you see the matchup? Buckeye Brusies anyone?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:07:24 PM)
"Beanie is breaking fasemasks out there he's running so hard." -- Love that quote from Larry Fitzgerald. ... Both Beanie and JL are having good rookie years, barely anyone is noticing just how good of a year JL is having because he plays on a one-win team. But he's going to be a solid NFL LB for years. ... Beanie is in a very good situation in Arizona playing for a good team. And he's already proving a lot of people wrong.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:07:34 PM)
Don't forget the Blue.......Jackets play tonight too! Good start and hope they get to and go somewhere in the Playoffs!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:07:53 PM)
Never was a hockey fan growing up, but I love the Jackets and it's great to see them playing so well.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:07:58 PM)
I think it's a trust issue for JT to give it a little gas!! With TP earlier turnovers, I think he shut it down. Not to mention the running game getting good. How many rushing yards will win us the game?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:09:17 PM)
Buckeyes need to rush for 200 to win. Well, maybe "need" is a strong word, but I think they will rush for 200. If they ran the ball well against good defenses like Penn State and Iowa, I fully expect them to pound the ball down Michigan's throat. This UM defense has a few good players like Graham, Mouton and Warren (and a couple others) but overall they are very shaky and have no depth.

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:09:56 PM)
Hey Dave, It's a great day to be a Buckeye, it's a great week to be a Buckeye, of course any day is at great day to be a Buckeye! What's your favorite memory for a Ohio State - Michigan game.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:11:27 PM)
The '84 game was not only my first OSU-UM game in person, it was my first game in the Horsehoe, period. Bucks won 21-6 and were off to the Rose Bowl. Keith Byars is still one of the best players I've ever watched play in an OSU uniform and he was special as a junior in '84. That is certainly my favorite memory. However, I also hold a soft spot for '94 (when I was a freshman at OSU), '01 (Tressel's first game), '02 and '06.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:11:46 PM)
Does Tater Tot make it to the second half? Heyward and Gibson could do a Thanksgiving wish!!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:12:33 PM)
I didn't think he would make it to this game in one piece, so yeah, at this point, I think he's perhaps more durable than some of us expected and he will make it through this game. Will he make it through this game with good numbers though? I don't think so. I think he'll make some big plays, but I also look for OSU to pressure him into mistakes.

dirkdiggler (Nov 19, 2009 7:12:42 PM)
How bad have the Scum safeties been this year? I know they're horrible against the run but I would really love a couple deep ones to Posey

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:13:42 PM)
They have been very bad and that's actually been one of their glaring weaknesses the last three years. Even reading UM blogs, they rip on their safeties all the time. I think OSU will have chances to throw it deep if they want to because UM will be cheating up to stop the run and their safeties are pretty bad.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:13:47 PM)
I get to see JL often here in Mo. Loved it when Pace was here!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:14:31 PM)
Yeah, looks like Big O (who lived next door to me in Morrill Tower in '94-95 and is a hell of a nice guy for a big star) is at the end of his career. He's been struggling this year with the Bears. One of the best OL in OSU history, obviously.

Bama (Nov 19, 2009 7:14:41 PM)
Whats the point spread for Saturdays game ?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:15:00 PM)
12 or 12.5, depending on what your favorite sportsbook has to say.

dirkdiggler (Nov 19, 2009 7:15:12 PM)
You think Sullinger is a one and done?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:16:44 PM)
No, I do not. He is going to be an excellent college player, but I don't think he'll be a one-and-done for several reasons: At 6-8, he's undersized for an NBA post player and wouldn't be a lottery pick IMO if he came out right away. Also, his father is a no-nonsense guy that will want him to stay in school as long as possible. Now, if all of a sudden Jared is projected as a top five pick after a couple years, he'll be gone (and he should be). But I definitely don't think he'll be one and done.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:17:26 PM)
James vs. Beanie this weekend. who has the better game? I'm going with Beanie, he seems to be progressing nicely and just seems fresh and explosive again

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:17:51 PM)
I think Laurinaitis will have over 10 tackles, but Beanie will get in the end zone and push for 100 yards. So, I'll say Beans by a hair.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:17:58 PM)
Who -Dey on your Bengal Blog!! Good stuff for a Good team!!! Break out the Broom on the Division!!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:18:43 PM)
Thanks, much appreciated. Just started the Bengals blog this year (www.threewaychili.com -- shameless plug) and I'm having a lot of fun with it. As a Bengal fan, you get rewarded about every 20 years for your loyalty.

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:18:53 PM)
Kieth Byars was a Man among boys. He should have been the Heisman winner. That bad luck foot injury. I'v got him to sign a toilet bowl plunger with the usually, "its a long way to Michigan"

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:19:28 PM)
That's good stuff. ... Byars had the '84 Heisman in the bag until Flutie's Hail Mary to beat Miami. And I think Byars would have won it as a senior if not for the foot injury.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:19:35 PM)
I ran on the field in 83 after beating the anthoney carter scum team!! Best memory im my life!!! Nothing better then your first in person "The Game" win!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:19:55 PM)
Nice, you ran on the field at the Big House. Good stuff.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:20:04 PM)
Dave, I've heard conflicting reports on Duron Carter's hands. I've heard and read some things that said he catches everything in sight like his dad, and i've heard rumors that he drops more balls in practice than anyone on the team. We all know he loves to block, but he seems to be struggling to catch the ball at times in games. Freshman jitters or were his hands slightly overrated?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:21:50 PM)
He had very good hands in high school, so I think it's a mental hurdle right now that he will eventually get over. His hands have definitely been shaky at times this year, but I fully expect him to be a standout WR at OSU next year (or by 2011 at the latest). He's got the whole package and once he settles down and gets more confidence, he'll start hauling in those balls. I am not worried about his hands long term because I've seen him make many tough catches. I think he's just a young player going through some growing pains. I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up as a stud at OSU. And not a lot of true frosh WRs play as much as he has this year (at least since Tress has been here).

dirkdiggler (Nov 19, 2009 7:22:11 PM)
Who you got in the game tonight? I loaded up on Carolina -3 2 days ago. A little worried as all the action is on them and the line hasn't moved. Hoping Henne throws some picks.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:23:22 PM)
I got the Buckeyes, 78-74. The keys for OSU will be rebounding and hitting a decent percentage of their threes. This is not a great UNC team (no way they finish even close to the No. 4 ranking in the country ... they are just ranked that high because they're the defending champs). UNC is talented and this game could certainly go either way, but I've got OSU in a close one. OSU is the more-experienced team and Evan Turner will be the best player on the floor.

dirkdiggler (Nov 19, 2009 7:23:31 PM)
Which current OSU player will have the best nfl career?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:24:32 PM)
I think Heyward. He can play DE in a 3-4 or DT in a 4-3 and I think he can be effective at both at the next level. Plus, he's still a baby in many ways and is only going to get stronger. I expect him to be a high first-round pick and to have a very good NFL career.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:25:20 PM)
Dave, Herron is obviously the better short yardage back, perfect for 3rd and 1 type situations, but 32 carries for 95 when Brandon gets 11 carries for over 100 and two long home run's that basically were our only offense? Tressel seems intent on making Boom the feature back, but i'm getting sick of him running up the guard's rear end for no gain. We need a back that can make a big play and rip off big chunks. Brandon starts and doesn't get the rock but any game Boom is full go we give it to him 20 times. (Boom has one more carry on the year despite all the time he's missed). What gives?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:26:38 PM)
Saine is more explosive, but Herron hits the hole harder and the staff likes that about him. I do agree that the carries need to be more evenly distributed between them though. Herron getting 30 and Saine 11 doesn't make much sense. Saine is going to get some receptions as well, but I would still like to see him get about 15 carries. Get Boom about 15-20 as well. The staff seems to like that 1-2 punch at tailback, although I think they're kind of average.

dirkdiggler (Nov 19, 2009 7:26:48 PM)
My fault. I was talking about the Panthers. I do like the Bucks to win tonight. In March hell no but like them tonight.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:27:23 PM)
Oh, I gotcha. That's why you had the Henne reference. I thought you just added something at end about the OSU-UM game and meant to say Forcier. I think we can all agree we hope Forcier throws some picks!

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:27:28 PM)
Dave, how about Justin Boren, wow could you ever imagine a situation like this kid. I got to think he is going to bring the whole team into Michigan Stadium with a Nasty Nasty Nasty Attitude.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:29:28 PM)
I still can't believe a kid transferred from Michigan to Ohio State. And a starting player for both teams no less! This isn't some third-stringer on the scout team transferring. Of course it made sense to some people since Boren almost picked OSU to begin with and he's from Columbus, but it's still shocking to me to this day that it happened. But I'm glad it did. Boren hasn't had the great year at LG that many expected, but he's been solid and brings that nasty attitude that you mentioned. And I love younger brother Zach at fullback. He is OSU's best fullback since Jamar Martin and he's only a true frosh. The whole Boren story is very intriguing to me, right down to the fact that his dad was an All-American LB at UM.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:29:37 PM)
OK make that 82!!! LOL Blame that on my age & Beer!!! Had a piece of Tim Spenser's jersey but they weren't tear away then!! He was a Hell of a back and one of my favorites!! I was in the tunnel(band) for a Bengals game that was pretty cool. What you got to do to get on the field!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:29:57 PM)
Cool stuff!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:30:19 PM)
Ha! My pleasure. Enjoy the game (and the Crown).

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:30:26 PM)
I hope scum won't take a cheap shot at Boren. Do you?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:30:58 PM)
I don't think they'll take a obvious cheap shot, but you better believe they will be keying on him in some fashion. They consider him a traitor, just like we would if someone transferred from OSU to UM.

Heater (Nov 19, 2009 7:31:07 PM)
Dave -- just read that Minor is out for the game Saturday.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:31:19 PM)
I knew he was doubtful (which even Tressel didn

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:31:28 PM)
didn't know until I asked him about it today...

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:31:56 PM)
But I didn't know he was definitely out. That's good news for OSU because I think Minor is a very underrated back. But UM does have a deep stable of RBs with Brown and now the true frosh Vincent Smith.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:32:07 PM)
And welcome in Heater, my man in Amsterdam!

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:32:16 PM)
Do we go downfield at all in the passing game this weekend against their shaky secondary? Maybe another 50+ to Posey? Or more Dave play all day long?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:33:29 PM)
I think OSU has to mix in some deep balls -- at least 2 in the first half to keep Michigan honest. I fully expect UM to stack the box and try and stop the run. And with their problems at safety and with everyone probably cheating up anyone, there will be opportunities for OSU to beat them deep. I just hope OSU doesn't wait too long in the game to take a few shots deep. Get that momentum going in OSU's favor and don't let UM think they have a chance.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:33:49 PM)
no Brady Quinn shots on Boren!

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:33:52 PM)
Will Dex start? We need him in the rotation!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:34:48 PM)
No, I don't think he will start. But he will be in the rotation at DT. He barely played against PSU (1-2 plays) and played a little more against Iowa but not much. I definitely think with this being the last reg season game and since he'll have several weeks to rest before another game that Dex will be in there for a good 20-30 plays.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:35:02 PM)
What are you sensing on the Lamaar Thomas front? i think he's gone after this year with us only graduating 1 senior receiver

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:36:08 PM)
With the way he's been phased out this year -- even at kick returner -- I wouldn't be surprised if he transferred after this year. However, there is always the chance the staff will convince him he'll have more of a chance next year (he'll at least be the kickoff returner with Small gone) and maybe he will think it's best to stick around. But who knows, everyone has been surprised at his lack of PT and production.

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:36:13 PM)
Yes Deep Shots. It is time. No doubt we will have something new! What do you think it will be?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:37:40 PM)
Hard to say what OSU's new wrinkles will be for the UM game, but you are right in that Tressel always saves something. Maybe it will be the jumbo OL formation with basically six OL (like with Andree Tyree in the '05 game) and OSU will try and run it down Michigan's throat in a formation they haven't seen this year. Or maybe they will spread it out more and surprise them by coming out throwing. I tend to think it will be the former if anything.

Heater (Nov 19, 2009 7:37:50 PM)
One more thing: I have ZERO second source confirmation but a buddy close to the program just texted me and said that Braxton Miller committed. No second source. I sent an e-mail to BK for him to check it out...figured something that big, he'd want it.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:39:36 PM)
I believe it. He's been an OSU lean for a long time (related to Dee Miller of course) and I don't think a lot of top programs are beating down his door after a so-so junior season at Wayne this year. I still think Miller is a very good QB prospect, but he needs to pick up his game next year. I have friends that played for Wayne and still go to a lot of their games and they kept giving me the "overrated" word when asked about Miller. But it sounds like he started to improve towards the end of the year. This would be a good get for OSU because it's all about projecting what kind of college QB they can be and Miller could be a good one.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:40:33 PM)
If Joyner comes in with this class, what do you think the odds are that he ends up on offense? i haven't seen much of him but i keep hearing he's Ginn-like in the fact that he's too special to not get the ball in his hands.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:41:47 PM)
That is actually the first I've heard about that. I am confident that OSU will land Joyner based on some conversations I've had with Kurelic, but I didn't know there was the possibility of him playing offense at OSU. Maybe he could be a corner and kick returner, something like that. Or maybe he is best on offense. Hard for me to say though. As far as I know, OSU is recruiting him as a corner.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:44:44 PM)
well it's almost tip time and i still gotta round up some dinner...GO BUCKS!!! Diebler hits atleast 5 three's tonight, you heard it here first!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:44:59 PM)
That sounds good to me. Don't forget, the game doesn't start until 9:30.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:45:16 PM)
Some sites incorrectly listed it at 9.

deeustin89 (Nov 19, 2009 7:45:37 PM)
thanks for the heads up dave! take care

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:45:48 PM)
Enjoy the game. I'm sure we all will if OSU prevails.

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:46:44 PM)
Dave, you know a good Michigan joke?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:46:53 PM)
You mean other than watching their football team play?

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:47:24 PM)
Yes, but that's real good!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:48:41 PM)
I just know a lot of the ones that can go both ways. The classics like "How do you get a UM grad off your front porch? Pay for the pizza." Although, it was fun calling them the "Michigan 3-9ers" last year (kind of sounds like the San Fran 49ers).

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:49:54 PM)
As a Bengal fan, I don't really care for the 49ers.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:50:36 PM)
I'm with you my friend. A couple of tough Super Bowl losses to that team.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:50:45 PM)
Dave, who is your offensive and defensive MVP for this year for the Buckeyes?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:51:52 PM)
Offense, I think you would have to go with Pryor since he's the leading rusher and passer. I don't think he's had a good year, but it would be hard to give it to anyone else. ... The other candidates would be Posey and maybe one of the interior OL like Brewster or maybe even (gasp!) Browning who has been very solid this year at RG after struggling big time at RT last year. ... And on defense...

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:52:11 PM)
I would go with Kurt Coleman, but there's a lot of guys you could give it to like Heyward and Homan.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:52:20 PM)
If nobody has asked, do you think Gibson, Heyward or anybody else will be leaving us after this season?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:52:57 PM)
I think both of them will leave. I don't think anyone else will, but I'll be surprised if either of them come back. Heyward I think wants to come back, but once he sees how high he's projected, he'll probably leave.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:53:04 PM)
Can we make it to Glendale next year for the national title game?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:53:50 PM)
I certainly think there's a good possibility. I think OSU will be better next year because the offense will be much better. If they take care of Miami early in the season, I think they can run the table and get there. Or maybe get there with one loss. Iowa and Wisconsin are going to be good next year -- a lot of guys back.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:54:04 PM)
What's your thought on tonight's game? Can we beat the Heels? I don't even know last time we did, maybe 1992 NCAA tourney in Lexington.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:54:34 PM)
Yes, I am picking OSU to win by four. This is not a great UNC team and they won't finish the season even close to the No. 4 ranking. Just respect for how well they did last year as national champs.

Ottobuck (Nov 19, 2009 7:54:46 PM)
Is "the Game" kick off at 6:18? No wait , 42 to 7 was the score last year!!!!

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:54:50 PM)
High noon this year.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:54:59 PM)
I like it that it looks like Cal isn't any good here (playing the 'Cuse). We either beat UNC or Cal or beat UNC and 'Cuse (hey hey!)

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:55:33 PM)
That sounds like a plan. UNC will be a tough game and Syracuse will be tough to beat in NYC if OSU wins tonight. But I think the Buckeyes can get it done. Looking for big things from Buford tonight.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:55:43 PM)
And of course Turner, but that goes without mentioning.

buckeye1scott (Nov 19, 2009 7:55:50 PM)
Lot of discussion on who is the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. Do you think Pryor deserves it?

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:56:47 PM)
Not really, but no one else has really risen up to claim it. John Clay would probably be my choice, but it's certainly a weak year for Big Ten offensive players. Joey Elliott is having a very good year, but with Purdue's record he won't get any play. But Purdue would be winless without him. He's a very good QB IMO and if Purdue had a defense they would be good this year.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:56:56 PM)
Dave, I want to thank you and Bill and Gary and Jeff and Steve for everything you guys do for us. It is apparent how much you guys care. Nobody else even tries to cover these teams like you guys do. It must be a lot of fun. I will be listening to the show in the morning.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:57:24 PM)
Really appreciate the kind words. And thanks for the plug about tomorrow's live radio show. Make sure everyone joins us Friday morning from 10-noon ET as we preview The Game.

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:57:37 PM)
Hey Dave everybody was wondering about receiver. My math is fuzzy but DeVier and Dane already have more catches than Robo and Hartline had last year and they still have 2 games left. Too bad we never saw Taurian or Lamaar but the best players play.

Posey's numbers have pleasantly surprised me this year. And I think the overall numbers for WRs have been better because (although he still has a long way to go) Pryor is a better passer this year. Maybe not by much, but he is better. I do see improvement.

Hey Vaughn are you connected to Vaugh Brodnax?

VaughnRednex (Nov 19, 2009 7:58:45 PM)
Who have been your surprise performers on offense and defense? I think about Shugarts (crazy as that sounds) on offense and maybe Torrence or Worthington on defense. I think the knee injury kept Dougie from doing what he came here to do. He finally is getting it done.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 7:59:58 PM)
I think Zach Boren has been the biggest surprise on the team. I also think Homan has played way better than anyone expected. Also, John Simon has been a very solid player as a true frosh.

No, i just stole his name lol

They lose Spitler, but he was just a part-timer anyway when they weren't in nickel. Who fills that spot next year? Moeller? Sabino? Stormy or somebody else? I LOVE IT that we got Homan and Rolle back together one more year. They gonna be nasty next year.

Dave Biddle (Nov 19, 2009 8:01:55 PM)
Yes, I think Sabino, Moeller or Sweat will be in line for more PT next year due to Spitler's departure. The staff really likes Sweat and were upset when he was lost for the year with the knee injury. ... I agree that having Homan and Rolle back as seniors next year is very exciting. Two steady, productive players there. Homan might be first-team All-Big Ten this year.

Homan has really shown what kind of player he is this year,.
